Fynshoved

Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
To Danes, 'Fyn' is far more than just a stepping-stone from the mainland to Sjælland. They’re proud of the island that was home to fairytale author Hans Christian Andersen, and it has a character all of its own with castles and manor houses amid a varied scenery of fields, woods and avenues. The dry wasteland of the Fynshoved Peninsula is a stark contrast, yet it’s the place to be for windsports. The northern corner has two modes: north-westerlies deliver waves to the western side, whereas other directions are sailable in the kilometre-long standing-depth area further south. To the east, the seabed drops off quite steeply, providing proper waves in north to north-easterly winds. But a strong current around the Storebælt ensures it’s for experienced riders only. Everything north of the Fynshovedvej is off-limits as a protected nature reserve.
