Experienced windsurfers visit Pegel when they want a wave-free location. It works in a broad range of wind directions, although it's always very choppy. There might not be waves, but do take care as the tidal currents are very strong. At high tide the basin at 'Yachthafen' is better. You can park at the harbour or by the supermarket behind the dyke.
