Pisserenna, Lista
South Coast
Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
The Lista Peninsula is highly rated by locals, as the south coast’s biggest waves break here. North-westerly wind has a fetch all the way across the North Sea to produce respectable swell. It has to blow really hard to happen, but that's often the case when low-pressures sweep through. Pisserenna starts breaking in 2.5m swell and works up to about 4m; bigger than that and the whole bay closes-out. The waves are powerful right-handers with wide sections that are a challenge to get out through. Make sure you stay in control too, as the harbour-wall downwind has claimed many a rig. The waves break over rocky reef, which makes them quite predictable – unfortunately the shore is just as rocky, so launching and landing gets tricky. Parking is the easiest bit: right by the water with a view of the spot. A glance at the map suggests a few more bays around here with a workable orientation – and their sandy shores look much more comfortable. But they're located in the nature reserve, so neither kiting nor windsurfing is officially allowed. The local riders like to keep a low profile – so think twice before setting off to explore.
