Port de la Selva
Costa Brava & Barcelona
Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
The Tramontana wave spots on the exposed Cap de Creus are equally popular with locals from Catalonia and nearby France. A long fetch means that enough wind can deliver up to 3m-high swell into the bay of Port de la Selva, which is definitely kind to advancing intermediates. Tramontana is much stronger here than in the 'Golf de Rosas' or 'Pals', so it's worth checking even on lighter days. The best way in is via a buoyed channel by the harbour-wall, where it blows cross-onshore. Waves will be best on the first and last day of Tramontana. Great artists are associated with this area, particularly the town of Cadaqués where Picasso, Matisse, Magritte and even Dalí roamed the streets. It’s a lovely place to spend a windless day – although someone will try to sell you cheap imitation on every corner!
