Ryde
Isle of Wight
Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
Across the Solent onto the Isle of Wight proper, below mid-tide there's loads of room and shallow water off Ryde's long sandy beach. With regular ferries from Gosport, 'The Gateway to the Island' is one of Wight's most popular day-trip destinations, hence although the sands are machine-cleaned daily they can be littered with tourists in summertime. Plus there's a solid sea-wall and some strong currents around the pier to keep away from, which can be particularly sketchy in easterly winds.
