Abersoch, Main Beach

Wales & Bristol Channel

Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:

Abersoch has three beaches: Town Beach is often sheltered and gets packed with holidaymakers in peak season, so kitesurfing and windsurfing tends to be at Main Beach (south of town) or Quarry Beach (to the north-east). Main Beach is the more popular, offering flat-water sailing in a well protected bay. Its enclosed nature endears it to beginners, while intermediates get their money’s worth in a blow. It can get quite busy though, with the added hazard of moored boats, so you’d be wise to look where you’re going! Parking is just behind the beach, alongside a slipway which windsurfers can drive down to drop their kit off at the waterline. Alternatively, Quarry Beach faces SE – so south-westerly blows sideshore – and offers good kitesurfing and bump-&-jump conditions. Parking is available on grass 50m from the shore and all amenities can be found in town.
