This is a versatile, truly year-round venue. It can get full-on with waves and current in low-pressure northerlies – 'Frassanito' may then be better. It stays moderate in southerlies due to a bend in the coast, yet the summer thermal is usually still enough to power large kit. This area has a lot more to offer though; the hilly interior is a dream for mountain biking, there are plenty of 'agriturismos' (working farms with holiday accommodation) . and last but not least, classics like Otranto with its old town and Romanesque cathedral. Italy at it’s very best!
