Allonby Bay
North-West England
Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
Still in the shadow of Scotland's Galloway hills, this large crescent-shaped bay is ideal for freeride. In fact Allonby locals claim it's among the windiest places in Britain, and everything from northerly through west to southerly breeze works – even gusty easterlies allow speedsailing parallel to the coastline. Although not really a wavesailing spot, small waves will form when it’s really windy. But the currents can be strong, so it’s not ideal for beginners either. Usually sailed above mid-tide – below that, if you don't fancy a long walk then the nearby village is well set up for visitors.
