This large bay south of Varberg is familiar to most Swedish surfers. 'A-Bay' is famed for its nice waves in a strong west-north-westerly wind, although there’s something for everyone thanks to a large shallow area and broad range of workable wind directions. Plus there's camping and cottages right at the beach – although that does mean restrictions in high season: with swimmers in the water, kiting and windsurfing are banned between 10am and 6pm.
