Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:

In winds from south to west, at its lower end the Moray Firth offers a safe bay for everyone. Wind conditions are most constant when the southwest comes exactly through the Caledonian trench - "Nessie" says hello. Conditions then feel as if you were on your local lake - however, if you ride into the channel on an outgoing tide, you'll have to make sure the strong current won't pull you past Fort George. Other than that just some weed and less wind near the shore. A beautiful flat water spot, apart from two unappetizing tubes to be found in the northern end at low tide. Another pipeline in the southern part should be noted; however, clearly marked with a well visible yellow cross. The kite zone is located in the northern half of the bay, whilst as a windsurfer you can start almost anywhere. Parking is available in many places along at the 3km wide bay. By the way: the white lighthouse at Chanonry Point is known for dolphin watching.
