Bakio is most interesting in moderate swell and strong cross-on north-westerly wind; otherwise it's more for surfing or swimming in summer. The waves break over several sandbars, until the swell gets too big and they tend to totally close-out. At high tide both shorebreak and current increase towards the rocks in the east.
