Balmedie

A rural gem amongst Aberdeen's otherwise industrial landscape, wander 50m through the dunes at Balmedie Country Park and you’ll find a large sandy beach. Conditions are usually freeride oriented, although a NW swell will throw up the occasional wave – on its day it offers clean wind and decent swell for both kiting and windsurfing. Low tide exposes butter-flat lagoons, but watch out for the rip which is at its strongest at mid-tide. Also look out for wooden posts and concrete structures that can be submerged at high tide.
