Beachen

Jeløya, the Oslofjord's biggest island, scores wind from every direction – but Beachen only works in southerlies. Despite the lack of space on land, it's equally popular among kiters and windsurfers. This is partly due to the venue's easy access (even by bus or train) and versatility: flat-water in the bay and a nice swell further out in the Reierbukta, from 20 knots up. Keep going upwind for more flat-water in an idyllic setting at the island of 'Revlingen' – just watch out for the Horten-Moss ferry on the way over!
