At low tide, it’s almost 2km to the water’s edge . and then there’s still 300m of shallows. West to north-westerly blows offshore, but it’s pretty clean at low tide (you’ve already walked far enough to escape the coastline’s shadow!) The best direction remains north-east to easterly, which always brings some chop to the beach. Algae thrive here in summer.
