This big sandy bay is the most popular kite and windsurf spot for Louth locals. Any easterly wind will deliver waves, while southerly is cross-shore. You need to know the tides though, as the water retreats for over two miles at low! In which case the locals move north to 'Dundalk' or south to 'Annagassin'. At mid-tide the vast standing-depth area is really popular.
