Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
Brandenburg really separates the men from the boys. This World Cup venue is probably one of Germany’s most famous spots – and in strong wind, among its most brutal. Sailable in over Force 6, but only cross to cross-onshore (and rig big as the wind’s always weaker inside). As the island curves slightly east here, south-westerly is almost cross-shore. Onshore westerlies come complete with fierce head-high shorebreak and strong currents between the groynes. Be careful out of season when the groynes are unmarked and barely visible at high tide; talk to the locals before heading out. Brandenburg is becoming increasingly popular with surfers – such selective conditions normally prevent any problems, but do take care on the sandbanks. If Westerland's urban backdrop isn’t your scene, try further north up the beach for similar conditions.
