Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
The quaint former Cognac brandy smuggling village of Brightstone on the 'Back of Wight' is well worth a visit. It's certainly pretty, but the secret stash is its beach's wavesailing potential in a westerly wind. There's a bit of a walk then a scramble down steep cliffs to get to the water, and then there's precious little beach to rig on – not ideal for kites. But although rocks in the water mean it's a spot for mid-tide and above, on its day it can offer windsurfers some fine wavesailing conditions.
