Broadhaven

Broadhaven’s west-facing sandy beach offers excellent conditions. The bay is protected from SW chop, effectively halving the wave size compared to Newgale, but cleaning them up nicely. In south-west to west-south-west winds Broadhaven offers very good windsurfing. North-westerlies also work well, southerlies can be OK (if gusty) at low tide, and even offshore easterlies are good for flat water blasting and freestyle. This versatility makes Broadhaven one of the most popular windsurfing locations in the area – park at the southern end of the beach opposite Haven Sports surf-shop.
