Cagliari's city beach (also called 'Il Poetto’ or 'Le Torrette’) stretches for over 7km. An outstanding race and slalom venue, some of Italy's best racers regularly train around the buoys here. It's often fanned by strong Mistral, plus all other wind directions are rideable in the bay too. In Scirocco and south-westerly storms, it becomes a cross-onshore break – very good for jumping.
