The best reason to visit the beaches of S'Albufera nature reserve is for their unspoilt natural beauty. Conditions elsewhere on the island are usually better – but above all easier, as the narrow, stony beach of Cala Tortuga has room for four kites at most. Park on the road to Favaritx lighthouse, then walk about 1km through trees and dunes to "Turtle Bay".
