Camber Dunes
English Channel
Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
Camber can be fantastic as the nice, flat sandy beach provides shallow water and breaking waves throughout the tide. Prevailing south-westerly wind blows fairly onshore, but is often accelerated as it squeezes up the Channel and gets an extra thermal boost on a sunny day. There's usually at least some short windswell breaking here, and strong north-westerly winds on the back of a system can produce classic cross-offshore conditions. Be careful of the shipwreck to the east of the free car-park. Low means a bit of a walk, high tide brings shoredump – when 'Little Maui' off the pay-to-play 'Dunes' car-park to the west is preferred by windsurfers for an easier launch, cleaner wind and better wave spacing.
