Canet is also primarily a winter break, with powerful but messy waves in north-easterly wind. The south-easterly summer thermal's a gamble: you’re probably better off driving an hour south (if you want to kite that’s your only option anyway). Amongst dunes, Canet’s setting is much nicer than neighbouring 'Port de Sagunt' – although it suits a south-westerly, when the water stays very flat in the pier's protection.
