Cesantes
Rías Baixas, Galicia
Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
Cesantes is Vigo’s favourite flat-water venue, prized for its local south-westerly thermal that regularly picks up to Force 3-4 on summer afternoons as the heat sets up a cloudy low-pressure area. When the prevailing north-easterly airflow dies off and there’s barely a breath on any of Galicia’s other beaches, you’ll often find something here. In classic high-pressure it’s usually north-easterly too, blowing slightly gusty over land into the bay. Launch to the north of the point in north-easterly, or south in a southerly. Depending on tide, the water's standing-depth for up to 100m. Only a few boats get in the way on the southern side, plus there are some sharp mussels in the sand. There's a great view of the imposing Vigo Bridge from the water.
