Beyond the iconic Needles chalk stacks on the quiet western tip of the island, tucked away behind Yarmouth the flat, shallow waters of Colwell Bay are very popular with beginner and intermediate windsurfers. There are typically strong Solent currents further out around mid-tide, and not much beach at high, so kiting is best towards low water.
