Cortellazzo

The fishing village of 'Jesolo’ at the mouth of the River Piave marks the eastern limits of the summer tourist hot-spot 'Lido di Jesolo'. There are two launches: one east of the rivermouth, the other west at 'Camping Waikiki’. Both have a fine sandy beach, all sorts of fishermen and tackle, and lots of summer sunbathers. They offer top conditions in wintertime, when the swollen Piave’s counter-current can build up really big, steep waves. Bora blows from the left; strong southerly wind's even better. Offshore northerlies suit 'Punta Sabbioni’ for freeride on Venice’s lagoon. A day-trip to the city of the gondolieri is a must anyway.
