Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
Another fabled Galician surf-spot. This 2km-long sandy beach has three breaks, which can be reached via adjacent channels. The right-hand side of the bay belongs to the surfers, the left-hand side – 'Punta Penencia’ – is kite and windsurf territory. Best conditions come with cross-shore northerly winds, on a flooding tide with medium W swell. Cross-off north-easterly is also very good, if a bit gusty in the impact zone. Also rideable in south to south-westerlies, although conditions soon get brutal. Just like 'San Xurxo', north-easterlies mean the biggest waves for a day or two before they back off, although it stays consistently big in a south-westerly. Best at mid-tide when the waves are clean and hollow, they tend to close-out at high. Generally holds waves up to 3m before closing-out – at which point it’s best to try 'San Xurxo'. There is some unpleasant localism here.
