Duncannon
Eastern Ireland
Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
Duncannon is famous for its fort, which towers over the strategically important estuary of the 'Three Sisters' – the Rivers Nore, Suir and Barrow. The wide, sandy beach below has developed into a popular little kite stronghold. Prevailing south-westerly winds blow safely cross-onshore. The water depth varies greatly, at low tide there’s even enough sand for kite-buggying. Watch for boat traffic in the deep water; nearby Waterford is Ireland's largest inland port.
