El Cabezo
Tenerife
Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
El Médano's most powerful wave breaks here, which has long made El Cabezo first choice amongst locals and wave connoisseurs. The cross-onshore conditions are especially good for jumping, but you’ll need to pull out of frontside rides in time as the wave runs all the way onto a rocky beach. The treacherous launch means kiting isn't encouraged, although around high tide a few experienced kiters do tack upwind all the way from Playa Sur to take on 'The Bunker' at the south end of the beach. Beneath the adjacent apartment blocks you’ll also find Tenerife's biggest surf shop and the local D'Light custom board shaper, as well as snacks and restaurants. But back towards the harbour, Manfred's Soul Café is the place to be for sundowners and beyond.
