El Socorro is Tenerife's answer to 'Pozo' on Gran Canaria – an exposed, boulder-strewn, cross-onshore wave spot. If it looks windy way offshore at El Médano but the northerly isn’t blowing in down there, take the TF-1 to the exit at 'Poligono Industrial' just beyond Güimar and you can expect to be on a 4.2-4.7m sail. The waves are anything but clean, yet can occasionally hit mast-high in a good blow. But be careful: big boulders and rocks lurk everywhere around the launch area and close inshore!
