If you prefer fresh water, head inland beyond Jerez to the Bornos reservoir. Strong Poniente and Levante both blow in well at the most exposed headland of Cortijo de Pitas. But if you'd rather not launch amongst the farmer’s cattle, in Levante you can try the little beaches in Bornos town – although when the water-level's low, the shoreline is steep and rocky.
