Épluchures Beach, Marseille

Marseille’s city spot is poseur-central, so you’re never alone at Prado park: jet-skis, lots of surfers and swimmers demand the utmost attention. Kiting’s banned here in summer – it would hardly be possible anyway. Nice waves, particularly in a north-westerly, arranged by a breakwater - which also makes the wind quite gusty. South to easterly are also possible, but are better next door at 'Pointe Rouge'. Even in low season parking on the Marseille seafront is a real challenge, but it's worth leaving the car empty for a stroll through town. Skaters can find one of the world's best bowls between the two beaches.
