Foryd Bay
Wales & Bristol Channel
Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
Back on the Welsh mainland, Foryd Bay is a large inlet extending south off the Menai Straits that scores bonus points for safety. In lighter winds this large, shallow expanse of water is ideal for beginners. In stronger winds it gets a bit choppy, but that shouldn’t be a problem for experienced riders. The inexperienced, on the other hand, should stay away from the mouth of the bay where currents can be pretty strong. And as for the crossing to Anglesey: it is perfectly viable, but those currents are killers so don't try it alone! The Bay itself is only sailable within a couple of hours of high tide. The best launch is from the picnic site on the eastern bank, where there's plenty of free parking, a view of the water and grass to rig-up on – a totally chilled out place to spend some time.
