The beach in front of the former military airport of Base Nature works best in a southerly thermal. It blows easterly in the morning, notching up to 20 knots south-westerly by afternoon. In an easterly, the water’s choppy with a bit of a shorebreak. In Mistral you’re better off driving on to 'Veillat'. It’s seldom full out in the bay of Fréjus, although the beach and car-parks usually are. In summer, there’s paid parking and a windsurf zone.
