Gioia Tauro
Calabria & Basilicata
Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
This little town on the Tyrrhenian coast is best-known for its recently expanded container port, which explains why its super-fine sandy beach isn’t as popular as it used to be. South-easterly winds work here (the summer thermal blows the opposite way, so is gustier and less reliable) as do westerlies, sometimes creating sweet onshore wave conditions. Leave the A3 at 'Gioia Tauro’ and follow signs to 'Porto’.
