Godrevy

Devon & Cornwall

Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:

The most northerly beach in St Ives Bay, Godrevy probably picks up the biggest swell. The locals head here when it's smaller, in south or south-south-east wind. It's also good in north or north-north-easterlies, but be warned that even without a groundswell the waves can rapidly jack-up to mast-high. Watch out for strong rips, dangerous currents and wind-shadow from the cliffs in a southerly. Expert kitesurfers only and no-go at high tide, although windsurfers can still launch. Best around mid-tide as it closes out at low – the waves are bigger on the push, but cleaner on the drop. Park in the National Trust car-park where there’s a café serving some amazing food complete with a sea view.
