Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:

Since kitesurfing has been restricted to clearly marked zones around Worthing, Goring has become quite popular as the large grassy area east of Sea Lane Café is perfect for setting-up and launching. However, launching the kite on the green and then walking through the beach huts makes it only a spot for intermediates and above as the beach isn't really wide enough for launching on the shingle. At low tide, it’s a long way to the water over some unfriendly rocks. So while some people ride at low tide, it's only a few flat water cruisers in booties. The better conditions are mid to high tide, but with strong winds there can be a nasty shoredump close to the beach which can turn into a real challenge, especially for wingfoilers. Generally, in stronger southwesterly winds, Goring is a higher level boosting twin tip spot with many kite loopers. In strong winds, wave riders head out, brave enough to ride beneath the loopers. Beginners, foilers and cruisers prefer Lancing and Shoreham, which contrasts nicely; as those are better spots at mid to low tide. This close to the South Downs a reliable summer sea breeze will often turn a gentle north-westerly into a cross-shore Force 5 by late afternoon, although it's liable to suddenly drop as the hills cool off later. Best wave conditions come mostly in spring, autumn or winter with a westerly wind after a few days of strong south-westerlies.
