The view of Cuxhaven is always impressive as huge ships glide past a magnificent façade. The wind blows cleanly from the sea into the bay, bringing nice steep jump-ramps for eight hours around high tide. The bay runs dry at low water, but don’t try sailing in the deep channels – the tankers can’t stop, whereas the police launches certainly can!
