Groene Strand, Terschelling

The island offers a shallow, versatile venue at Groene Strand. Depending on tide, the water depth varies from 20cm to 2m. At high water the standing-depth area extends to about 600m, with a small enough fin there's enough water for four or five hours around high tide. At low tide windsurfers can head out into the ferry channel for more, but anywhere beyond the yellow buoys is out of bounds to kiters. The locals are happy to have kept the launch open, so help keep it that way by being considerate of swimmers in summer!
