Hvide Sande Süd

Alongside its flat water, harbour and fish market, Hvide Sande also boasts a classy break. Two stone breakwaters at the harbour-mouth sort the waves out in strong north-westerlies to roll cleanly onto the vast sandy beach to the south, which works best at low tide. The jetties also temper the shorebreak, which gets significantly worse further south. But don’t ride too close to the southern jetty, as surfers rule here (same as "inside" between the jetties). Otherwise the mood on the water is pretty relaxed – even when it's busy there’s enough room for jumping and waveriding. Since the jetties are extended it can also make sense to check the northern beach in a south-westerly.
