This is Southern Sicily’s best wave spot – excellent in SE swell and cross-off west to north-westerly wind, with 1m to 4m waves and a strong current close inshore. There's a glorious landscape of sand-dunes and Mediterranean flora, but not much space for parking. This place is virtually unknown outside of Sicily, so respect the locals and (as all over Italy) they’ll prove to be extremely congenial hosts! While you’re down south, do visit Noto, Avola, Marzamemi, Siracusa – and the amazing bays in the Vendicari nature reserve, even if you’re not allowed to ride there.
