This is also the preferable launch for freeriderding in Westerlies and Easterlies. However, only at high tide as low water means no water. In Northerlies or Southerlies the beach on the east side is best. Until almost low tide you'll avoid hitting some of the granite blocks under water if you stay between the middle of the beach and the black and yellow sign to the north. The bay is not only interesting for beginners. If the waves are closing out during a southerly storm over in Siouville, Jonville is always an option. There are oyster-beds at 'Saint-Vaast la Hogue’ – just call it “Saint Va” and you’ll pass as a local. And don’t forget to try some fresh oysters, they're delicious!
