Kabbelaarsbank

Zeeland

Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:

Another popular launch is on the Grevelingenmeer side of the Brouwersdam. The Kabbelaarsbank sandbar was big even before the dyke was built in the 1960s, when excavated sand was used to create the shores that now attract freeriders and freestylers. Perfect flat-water conditions in most wind directions; even beginners feel safe in designated standing-depth and school areas. There are shells on the seabed in some of the shallow areas, so most choose to wear boots year-round rather than risk cutting their feet. Really easy access: parking's on the grassy banks beside the water, so keeping an eye on family and friends is easy. The surroundings are pretty handy too – there are showers, toilets, a restaurant and surf-shop all within walking distance. All this comfort understandably comes at a price; paid parking. And if you witness a sunny weekend here, you’ll soon understand why kiting isn’t allowed!
