Karlshagen, Usedom
Usedom & Greifswalder Bodden
Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
Usedom’s favourite Baltic Sea spot offers conditions similar to the lagoons further south, except there are no groynes or piers to worry about . or parking hassles to ruin your fun! Karlshagen also wins out with its natural charm and relaxed atmosphere. In strong easterly winds, a nice 2m wave breaks on the standing-depth sandbank while there can be a metre more outside in the swell. The swimming zone by the campsite is patrolled Baywatch-style and is out of bounds in high-season, so the launch (including 50m standing-depth) is at the car-park towards 'Peenemünde’. Just be aware that the wardens will readily issue tickets to anyone who doesn’t pay.
