It's often windy here, even on Meltemi-free days, thanks to reliable thermals. Force 7's a fair average, even in summertime. From beyond the wind shadow at the launch (which is ideal for beginners), there's a beautiful view of a picturesque fishing village surrounded by mountains, and the town of Samos 8km away. The swell in Kokkari can also easily hit the 2m mark. Windsurfers only: the little pebble beach is too narrow for kiting.
