L'Ampolla

The former fishing village of L'Ampolla is the northern gateway to the Delta del Ebro, much loved by Swiss expats and holidaymakers. The nature reserve beside the rice paddies is home to flamingoes and other waterfowl . and it's also one of the windiest parts of the Spanish Mediterranean. In less breeze the flat, shallow waters of this semi-enclosed bay are an ideal for learning to windsurf in total safety, or taking a SUP tour around the impressive lagoon. You only see kites on this popular sunbathing beach out of season – but when winter Levante blows strong enough, it can deliver decent waves.
