L'Estartit

With a striking view of Illes Medes, L’Estartit is primarily a good wave spot in north-easterly Gregal which blows stronger and more often than elsewhere. It can deliver small waves in winter; easterly Levante creates much bigger, but it's bolt onshore. L’Estartit’s other draw is for freeride in the southerly summer thermal, even though it’s not quite as consistent as the Bay of Roses. Yet it's not ideal in Tramontana as the wind off the hills is too gusty. Windsurfers launch in front of town, 'Kitebeach' is just by the roundabout further south.
