A good call in really strong Libeccio – south-westerly blows less powerfully than out west, yet more consistently. Only when it’s howling are there waves and a shorebreak. Despite onshore winds, Ostriconi’s a good kite beach – and launching's allowed in summer too. A sandy beach offers loads of space for it, plus 60m of standing-depth water. The only snag is a 100m scramble down a cliff from the car-park to rig up.
