Tarifa's locals sometimes ride La Caleta east of town when Levante begins to drop off elsewhere. The chop gets bigger here too, and there are even some waves for jumping in stronger Levante. The price for these little waves and that extra wind is a tricky launch. The tiny beach is stony with sharp rocks in the water – miss the 'safe’ area in front of the house and you're going to hurt your feet.
