La Grande-Motte

Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:

Montpellier’s favourite venue is west of the marina at 'Le Petit Travers'. It’s relatively easy to get off the beach as the breakwater absorbs any swell. Further out, hotshots can find bigger waves. South-easterly is cross-on from the left and gusty inshore by the breakwater. The south-westerly sea breeze offers good freeride, but in Tramontane you’re better-off driving on to 'Port-Camargue' as offshore wind is blocked by too many buildings here. Anyone who values space on the water is probably in the wrong place – even on gloomy winter days, you’ll need to look twice before initiating manoeuvres. Kiters have to look elsewhere in summer anyway (15th June to 15th September).
