La Turballe / Pen Bron
Pays de la Loire
Auszug aus dem KITE AND WINDSURFING GUIDE:
The area south-west of Guérande is like a giant patchwork of water – very salty water, that is, as this is where sodium chloride is extracted from countless salterns. And not just any old salt – the famous Fleur de Sel ("flower of salt") whose crystals are traditionally (and laboriously) scraped off the surface by 'palutiers'. On the ocean side north of 'Rade du Croisic', there's comfortable freeride and bump-&-jump between 'La Turballe' and 'Pointe de Pen Bron', although there’s a meaty shorebreak at high tide. Strong enough lows produce a messy beach-break; good for jumping in a south-west or north-westerly.
